Terms of Service

Last updated: 5 June 2026. Provided in English.

1. About these terms

These terms govern your use of WordsForThis, operated by Virtual Cognition Pty Ltd (ABN 14 688 800 393), an Australian business (registered office: 3 Billson St, Parcel Locker 10009 46032, Wonthaggi VIC 3995). By using the service or making a purchase, you agree to these terms.

2. What the service is

WordsForThis is a creative writing assistant. It asks you guided questions and uses artificial intelligence to arrange and shape your own words into a speech or letter. It uses only the information you provide and does not invent facts, people, events or quotes. It is not professional, legal, medical, financial or therapeutic advice, and is not a substitute for grief, counselling or other professional support.

3. Your responsibilities

  • Provide accurate, truthful information.
  • Use the service only for lawful purposes.
  • Don’t submit content that is defamatory or that discloses others’ private information you are not entitled to share.
  • Review and edit every draft before you use it — AI output needs human judgement.

4. Your content and ownership

You keep all rights to the information and memories you share. You grant us a limited licence to process them solely to generate your requested content. The drafts we create are yours to use. Because content is generated from your inputs, we don’t guarantee it is unique, and similar inputs may produce similar results.

5. AI-generated content

Drafts are produced by AI and may contain errors or wording that isn’t right for your situation. Please review, verify and personalise everything before use. For emotionally difficult occasions, consider support from friends, family or a professional.

6. Privacy and your data

To deliver a purchase, we store your interview answers, the generated drafts and your order information on our servers. We keep your answers and drafts only for the 14-day retrieval window, after which they are automatically deleted. See our Privacy Policy for what we collect, who processes it, and your rights.

7. Payment, pricing and refunds

Each piece of work is a one-off purchase, with no subscription. Prices are shown in your local currency; the exact amount and any taxes are confirmed at checkout. Payment is processed by Paddle, which is the merchant of record (we don’t store your card details).

Refunds: if a technical failure prevents delivery, the service was not as described, or you were charged in error, contact support@virtualcognition.com.au within [7] days of purchase with your order number. Because drafts are delivered immediately and require your own editing, a change of mind or dissatisfaction with AI style is not generally refundable. (This refund window is separate from the 14-day retrieval window for accessing your work.)

8. Australian Consumer Law

Our services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. If the service fails to meet a consumer guarantee, you may be entitled to a remedy. Nothing in these terms limits those rights.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law (and subject to the consumer guarantees above), our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid for the relevant purchase, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia, and you submit to the courts of that jurisdiction.

11. Changes and contact

We may update these terms; the “last updated” date will change accordingly. Questions: support@virtualcognition.com.au.
